In 2021 I started new series of paintings called Queens and Kings. To me, kings (or queens) should represent their kingdoms and demonstrate the maximum strength of their potential.
The King of the Forests is an old First Nations man that lived his life full of love to everything that surrounds him. His smile shows this, as well as the birds on his shirt.

Lord of the Flies
Lord of the Flies is another painting from Kings and Queens series that Elena Nahum Leroy created in 2022.
This painting represents the war that Putin started on February 24, 2022. Putin’s eyes are hidden with the pig mask, showing that he has no soul. Pig’s head idea is borrowed from Golding’s Lord of the Flies novel and represent innocent deaths caused by savage concepts of sacrifice to imaginary Lord of the Flies that stands for unreasonable fears.

Eugenia
This painting was made in memory of Eugenia, Elena’s husband’s grandmother who passed away in summer 2021. Elena’s kids (Eugenia’s great-grandkids) picked this beautiful bouquet on the day she left this life and Elena painted them with a closed book that symbolizes the last chapter read of Eugenia’s life.
