This painting is my interpretation of TAROT cards. She has other paintings from TAROT series that will be posted at this web-site.
The High Priestess tarot card is the second trump or Major Arcana card of the tarot deck. Elena painted this card as it was one of the first cards she ever pulled from tarot deck. When the High Priestess appears upright in a tarot reading she usually indicates a time for learning and listening to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind.
Generally speaking, the this tarot card shows a woman sitting on a cubic stone between two pillars. The “B” on the black pillar stands for Boaz, the pillar of strength. The “J” on the white pillar stands for Jachin, the pillar of the establishment. That’s probably everything that 100% follows the initial rules for depicting this tarot card.
Elena’s High Priestess tarot card painting doesn’t have a crown similar to the one used by the goddess Hathor, Ancient Egyptian “mother of earth”. Instead, the Hight Priestess wears a traditional Russian kokoshnik that shows Elena’s origins and a feminine symbol. The crescent moon moves from feet to the the chest and instead of TORA scroll the woman is holding a purple book. As purple was and still is the most expensive pigment to get, this color is linked to deepest spirituality.
